NZXT Lift 2 Mouse Review

NZXT Lift 2 Mouse Review

NZXT is back again with a new mouse line. This time around, the Lift 2 comes in two variants: the Ergo and the Symm, with the former aiming to satisfy palm grip users and the latter taking aim at those who prefer claw or fingertip grips. Having options is always nice and the similarity between the Ergo and Symm, in terms of weight and functionality, is impressive. What’s more, the sequel is $10 cheaper than the original, making it even more budget-friendly. After trialing the Symm variant during work and play, it’s time for my NZXT Lift 2 mouse review.

The specs

NZXT Lift 2 Mouse Review

What can you get for $49.99 in 2024? Well, a 58-gram mouse equipped with an 8,000 Hz polling rate and optical switches. The PTFE feet make the experience that much smoother. It’s a lot of bang for your buck, provided you can deal with the cable.

Where it shines

The NZXT Lift 2 gets a lot right. It’s versatile, catering to various hand sizes and grips, and performs flawlessly with NVIDIA Reflex to cut down on latency. The ability to store profiles directly on the mouse is a nice touch, keeping things simple and straightforward. While NZXT does offer CAM, its software solution for enhanced customization, it’s not mandatory. However, for those who do install CAM, the ability to set lift-off distance, remap mouse buttons, program macros, and adjust the quick-switching of DPI (up to 26,000) will no doubt be appreciated.

Room for improvement

NZXT Lift 2 Mouse Review

As mentioned earlier, the NZXT Lift 2 mice are wired. Not only that, but the cable is surprisingly unwieldy. Perhaps I’ve gotten too used to wireless options, but I think the wire could be made to be more flexible. If you get the mouse, then I’d definitely pick up a bungee (or at least tape the cable to the back of your monitor).

It’s obvious that the wire is what helps keep the Lift 2’s price down and, for those who don’t mind the cable, the top-tier functionality of the sensor combined with the low weight make for a high-end experience without breaking the bank.

Final Verdict

With its $49.99 price tag, the NZXT Lift 2 positions itself as a tempting option for gamers watching their budget but still chasing peak performance. If you’re hunting for a reliable gaming mouse and don’t mind a few compromises, the Lift 2 might just be up your alley. However, for those seeking the cutting edge of design and functionality – particularly if you’re looking for something wireless – then the search continues. The Lift 2 is another safe step by NZXT in the world of gaming peripherals, but it’s still a solid option that many gamers will love.
